Students at Anne Hill Bilingual Primary School recently took part in a field trip where they brought their knowledge of Vietnamese culture and traditions to life. This hands-on experience was both captivating and enriching, fostering a deeper understanding and greater appreciation for the nation’s vibrant cultural heritage.
Highlights of the activities:
Bat Trang Pottery Art: Students explored the intricacies and craftsmanship of traditional pottery by using a potter’s wheel to create their own clay masterpieces.
Dong Ho Painting: They discovered the unique beauty of this renowned folk art, participating in every step to complete a Dong Ho painting, from applying ink and printing on dó paper to colouring, gaining insights into its artistic essence.
Rice Paper Making: Students learned about the process behind creating traditional rice paper – an iconic Vietnamese culinary staple – and crafted their own crispy rice paper creations.
Kite Decorating and Flying: Exploring the cultural significance of this traditional game in rural Vietnam, they designed and flew their vibrant kites in the sky.
