The first weeks of the 2026-2027 academic year at AHB have brought joyful moments and a variety of meaningful experiences. Each activity has gently helped students prepare both physically and mentally for the new academic year, while introducing them to the importance of teamwork, confidence, and AHB’s core values.

Finding Their Rhythm in a New Academic Year
After the summer break, the first day of school at AHB welcomed students with a range of activities designed to help them settle into their new environment and daily routines. For Primary students, it was an opportunity to become familiar with their new timetables, reconnect with friends, and establish classroom routines together with their teachers.
Each class explored its shared expectations and classroom rules, helping students develop appropriate learning and daily habits. Simple practices such as listening attentively, following agreed rules, and respecting shared spaces contribute to creating a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment for the AHB community.

The first weeks of the school year also provided time for students to review previous knowledge, strengthen their foundations, and prepare for new learning. Through classroom lessons and activities, students gradually found their rhythm, became more confident in sharing their ideas, and learned to collaborate with their peers.
For Preschool students, settling into school began with much smaller, more personal steps. There were curious but uncertain eyes, little hands holding tightly onto their parents, and sometimes a few tears as they left familiar arms behind. The care of their teachers, new friendships, and a welcoming classroom environment gradually helped them feel safe, comfortable, and more confident at school.

Caring for Well-being, Nurturing Character
After settling into the school environment, AHB Primary students took part in a general health check-up. The programme allowed AHB to monitor students’ overall health and provided a valuable basis for supporting them throughout their learning and daily school life.
The health check-up also gave students an opportunity to become more aware of their own well-being. By learning more about their bodies, they can gradually develop healthy habits and take greater responsibility for their health. A strong physical foundation gives students the energy they need to learn, play, and actively participate in school activities.

Alongside physical well-being, AHB places equal importance on nurturing the values that shape students’ character. During the Primary School beginning-of-year Assembly, students explored Integrity, one of AHB’s core values.
Through a performance by Grade 5 students, the children reflected on a familiar situation: “What would you do if you found a wallet on the street?”. The simple scenario opened a meaningful conversation about telling the truth, doing the right thing, and choosing kindness.

Grade 5 students shared their perspectives on practicing integrity
Students then shared their thoughts and wrote down actions that demonstrate integrity in their learning and everyday lives, such as being honest in their work, keeping promises, and taking responsibility for their actions. These notes were more than a record of their ideas; they became personal reminders to practice integrity every day.
At AHB, Integrity is not simply introduced through lessons. It is nurtured through everyday experiences and choices. Through these opportunities, AHB supports students in developing a strong foundation of values alongside their academic knowledge.
Joyful Experiences to Help Young Learners Feel at Home
Alongside becoming familiar with their classrooms and daily routines, AHB Preschool students were welcomed through a colorful series of hands-on experiences. Each activity brought a little moment of joy while helping the children feel more confident as they explored their new environment.
The children explored four experience stations: learning patience as they planted and cared for little seeds, taking part in movement activities that encouraged coordination and teamwork, decorating their own pinwheels, and joining a ribbon dance that encouraged them to express themselves confidently. Each activity offered something new to discover. Curious eyes, energetic little steps, and bright laughter gradually helped ease the uncertainty of those first days. Through play and exploration, the children began to discover that coming to school could be a joyful experience.

The first month of the 2026-2027 academic year has come to a close, but what remains is more than new knowledge and routines. It is the growing sense of security that comes from being able to explore freely, build connections, and feel cared for in their second home.
With this strong foundation, AHB students are ready to continue learning, exploring, and growing throughout the 2026-2027 academic year with confident minds, caring hearts, and strong values to guide them along the way.
