Anne Hill Bilingual School (AHB) is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever English Speaking Contest — “Stars Speak”. The competition reflects the school’s mission of “Nurturing Global Citizens with Vietnamese Hearts”, offering students across Ho Chi Minh City the opportunity to showcase their English proficiency, develop their public speaking skills, and celebrate cultural diversity.
Under the theme “Connecting Cultures – Inspiring Futures”, Stars Speak invites students to share their unique perspectives on global cultures while embracing and honouring Vietnamese traditions. More than just a contest, this event is a journey of exploration and a meaningful stepping stone for future global citizens.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to Vietnamese primary and secondary school students currently studying in schools in Ho Chi Minh City who can present confidently in English. Please note that the contest is only open to students outside the Anne Hill Education Group.
Contestants will be divided into appropriate age groups/grades if necessary, depending on the number of applications.
CONTEST ROUNDS
Preliminary Round (Online)
- Time: From October 13 to October 26, 2025|
- Topic: Submit a 1–2 minute video introducing a culture, custom or cuisine of any country (except Vietnam)
Final Round (Offline)
- Time: Saturday, 15 November, 2025 (Check-in: 7:30 | Competition starts: 8:00) at AHB To Hien Thanh campus (268 To Hien Thanh, Hoa Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City)
- Topic: In the Final Round, contestants will deliver a presentation in English introducing Vietnamese Culture. The time allocated for each contestant is: 2-3 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for Q & A from the Judging Panel. Students may actively prepare aids including (presentation files, various aids related to Vietnamese culture) to support their performance.

- Posts shared on Facebook and videos must be set to public until the contest ends.

JUDGING CRITERIA
To be eligible for prizes, all entries must complete the required steps listed in the “How to Participate” section.
The judging panel will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:
Content & Structure (30%) – Clear, coherent, and well-developed message that stays relevant to the theme.
Presentation & English Fluency (40%) – Pronunciation, intonation, pacing, confidence, and body language.
Creativity & Engagement (30%) – Originality, appeal, and the ability to capture and maintain the audience’s attention.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
- By participating in the competition, parents agree to grant Anne Hill Bilingual School (AHB) full rights to use the content, videos, images, and written materials provided for official communication and promotional purposes on the school’s media channels.
- All video submissions must be created and performed directly by the contestant, without copying, editing, or using footage from others. Videos must not be altered, photoshopped, or recorded at misleading angles, and must contain content relevant to the competition only.
- By joining the contest, participants are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions.
- Students who qualify from Round 1 will advance to the Final Round, which will be held in person at Anne Hill Bilingual School – To Hien Thanh Campus (268 To Hien Thanh, Hoa Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
- The Organising Committee may contact winning participants via their registered phone number to verify information.
